On 23rd July, 2022, at the House of Representatives Chamber, Parliament Building, H.E. Mr. Chuan Leekpai, Speaker of the House of Representatives, presided over the 14th session of the 25th House of Representatives meeting, 4th year (First Annual Ordinary Session), a special meeting.
The urgent issue for consideration is casting a vote in submitting the censure motion for a general debate for the purpose of passing a vote of no-confidence in an individual minister, proposed by the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives and 186 MPs in total.
The meeting resolved for vote as following:
1. Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the meeting agreed to disapprove 256 votes of confidence, approve 206 votes of no confidence with 9 abstentions;
2. Mr. Julin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, the meeting agreed to disapprove 241 votes of confidence, approve 207 votes of no confidence with 23 abstentions;
3. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, the meeting agreed to disapprove 264 votes of confidence, approve 205 votes of no confidence with 3 abstentions;
4. Gen. Prawit Wongsuwon, Deputy Prime Minister, the meeting agreed to disapprove 268 votes of confidence, approve 193 votes of no confidence with 11 abstentions;
5. Gen. Anupong Paochinda, Minister of Interior, the meeting agreed to disapprove 245 votes of confidence, approve 212 votes of no confidence with 13 abstentions;
6. Mr. Saksayam Chidchob, Minister of Transport, the meeting agreed to disapprove 262 votes of confidence, approve 205 votes of no confidence with 5 abstentions;
7. Mr. Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, Minister of a Digital Economy and Society, the meeting agreed to disapprove 249 votes of confidence, approve 205 votes of no confidence with 18 abstentions;
8. Mr. Chuti Krairiksh, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, the meeting agreed to disapprove 244 votes of confidence, approve 209 votes of no confidence with 17 abstentions;
9. Mr. Santi Promphat, Minister of Finance, the meeting agreed to disapprove 249 votes of confidence, approve 204 votes of no confidence with 18 abstentions;
10. Mr. Niphon Boonyamanee, Deputy Minister of Interior, the meeting agreed to disapprove 246 votes of confidence, approve 206 votes of no confidence with 20 abstentions;
11. Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Labor, the meeting agreed to disapprove 243 votes of confidence, approve 208 votes of no confidence with 20 abstentions.
The vote of no confidence needed to muster at least more than half of all available members of the House of Representatives, thus 11 ministers was approved with confidence by the House of Representatives.
